Artist Management and Consulting
Jícarx (also referred to as Jícaro/Jícara, depending on the region—pronounced “HÍ-cah-ro” in Nicaragua and “HÍ-cah-rah” in El Salvador) is a dedicated management and consulting agency for artists and entertainers who identify as part of the Latin American diaspora.
Our mission is to empower emerging and established talent while uplifting the cultures of Latin America, the Caribbean, Mexico, and their global diasporas. We honour the artistic richness of these communities and partner with collaborators who understand that representation, visibility, and cultural authenticity are powerful drivers of engagement and growth. Our roster—including artists like Looch Bodega—brings cross-cultural appeal, bilingual creativity, and global market resonance.
We embrace the intersectional identities that shape our regions, recognizing that this diversity fuels innovation and creative excellence. The “X” in Jícarx is intentional: it reflects our commitment to challenging gendered norms rooted in colonial languages and cultural expectations, and to creating an inclusive ecosystem where artists of all identities can express themselves authentically. This ethos allows our talent to connect deeply with audiences while offering partners genuine cultural alignment and credibility.
What sets Jícarx apart is our belief that diversity is not only a value—it is a strategic advantage. We create space for artists to thrive and develop collaborations that are impactful, relevant, and culturally rooted. Through our work, we provide partners access to influential communities, emerging markets, and artists who move culture forward—ensuring that every collaboration is meaningful, innovative, and globally resonant.
*Jícarx invites and welcomes all allies and co-conspirators to be part of our collective efforts and comunidad!

About the Brand
Our name comes from the Jícara/Jícaro, a sacred and ancient tree found across Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and parts of Africa.
Known by many names—Mexican Calabash, Morro, Higüero, Totumo, Mate, Güira—it has been revered for generations. For the Ancient Maya and many Mesoamerican peoples, the Jícaro is a Sacred Tree woven into Creation stories.
Traditionally, every part of the plant is used for medicinal, culinary, artisanal, and everyday purposes—bowls, utensils, instruments, remedies, and more. Its high-protein seeds, famously used in Horchata, are now being explored for high-quality oils comparable to extra virgin olive oil.
We chose this name as an act of remembrance and resistance—honouring the Indigenous peoples of the regions now called Latin America and the enslaved African peoples who were forcibly brought to the Americas and whose cultural, musical, and spiritual legacies continue to shape our identities. Like our ancestors—and like the resilient Jícaro seed—we were not expected to survive certain conditions; yet we adapted, persisted, and thrived.
Today, somos la resistencia que nunca imaginaban.
Esto es para nosotrxs, de nosotrxs.
